CHFESDI
HAITIAN CENTER FOR TRAINING, SOCIAL ECONOMY AND INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT
To achieve its mission, the organization will develop, among other things, the following strategies:
-
Establishing partnership relations with the Haitian government, regardless of the political party in power, the international community, local, regional, national organizations, as well as with certain NGOs that carry out fair and equitable work in Haiti.
-
Promoting citizen participation, the integration of Haitian women in the development and economic growth of the country by supporting their activities on the ground.

-
The implementation of socio-economic programs and projects directly on the ground in collaboration with its national and international partners, which allow Haitian men and women to serve the economic and social development of Haiti, which strengthen direct development aid and the development of beneficiaries.
-
The implementation of activities that meet the real needs of the Haitian social fabric.
CHFESDI offers the Haitian government, international donors, businessmen and development organizations a rapid way out of the socio-economic slump, through the implementation of projects and services likely to combat poverty and promote the development of the Haitian population.
In addition, our organization aims to be the leader in defending the rights and interests of the poorest women, youth and children in the country. CHFESDI will place the Haitian population at the center of everything it undertakes in terms of programs, projects and activities inside and outside Haiti. Its structure allows actors and beneficiaries to get involved in concrete social, political and economic actions, in order to contribute to the growth of Haiti and improve the quality of life of the population.
Our Strategic Directions
Internationally, CHFESDI focuses on establishing reliable partnerships, particularly with Canada, to support new arrivals and Haitian immigrants, as well as with the international community in general to back our interventions in terms of financing key programs and projects for Haiti’s integrated economic development, trade exchanges, technical and vocational education, and support for technological and scientific development.
We aim to strengthen our achievements with Haitian diaspora partners to expand our partnerships and implement specific pilot projects and programs that will benefit Haitians in need, both within and outside of Haiti. These development pilot projects and programs will be carried out gradually as our partnerships evolve over the years. More specifically, we will focus on:
-
Developing programs and projects that align with CHFESDI’s mission and pre-established objectives, ensuring they address the real economic and social development needs of Haiti.
-
Identifying, analyzing, and addressing social and economic needs, proposing realistic and adaptable solutions tailored to Haiti’s socio-economic realities.
-
Prioritizing the development of plans and programs that promote active participation and integration of Haitians, ensuring the total and absolute involvement of Haitian women in the country’s development and economic growth.
-
Identifying the needs of Haitian women working for social well-being and their empowerment.
-
Developing targeted initiatives to support small-scale projects led by women.
-
Assessing the impact of our activities on the ground by comparing them to expected results, and making necessary adjustments to implemented programs as needed.
-
Raising awareness within the Haitian community, Canadian institutions, and international cooperation organizations about CHFESDI’s mission and objectives, to promote the organization and reach its target audience.
-
During the first three years, securing donations and contributions in cash, kind, securities, or real estate from corporate entities or individuals, and managing these resources to launch on-the-ground activities. Additionally, organizing fundraising campaigns and other initiatives to support the programs and projects that CHFESDI will implement.
Although our primary purpose is the Integrated Economic and Social Development of Haiti, we do not, in any way, claim to take on the role of the country's government authorities or replace the international community. On the contrary, we intend to contribute to the process of national reconstruction.
Given the prevailing economic and social situation in Haiti, CHFESDI will conduct an assessment of the country’s specific development needs. An inventory of existing socio-economic studies on Haiti will be carried out before undertaking new studies to avoid overlapping with already available information.
Additionally, CHFESDI will evaluate ongoing programs and projects to not only work in complementarity with collaborators already active in the field but also to concretely define and develop our actions to be implemented in the coming years.
Specific actions will be undertaken over the next four years with respective timelines for our programs and projects, including:
-
Seek infrastructure grants to establish a physical space in Ontario to launch our operations, support newly arrived Haitian nationals, and set up an office that will allow us to begin operations for the benefit of Haiti.
-
Develop a website to centralize information related to our activities and keep our partners and CHFESDI beneficiaries informed about our initiatives.
-
Encourage, stimulate, and better guide the engagement and organization of social groups in Haiti.
-
Assess the level of public participation in establishing socio-economic structures that improve living conditions.
-
Identify and evaluate the urgency and social needs of the most vulnerable groups affected by poverty and the consequences of clan wars.
-
Analyze the distribution of female labor in both formal and informal sectors of the national economy, as well as the real needs of women in managing their daily businesses.
-
Strengthen solidarity among Haitians with a focus on economic and social development, leveraging local expertise from different regions.
-
Study and analyze the direct and indirect consequences of the lack of effective support for women's professional activities, as well as the lack of effective integration of female labor into the formal sectors of the national economy. Examine the impact and intensity of this imbalance on the national development process.
-
Promote socio-economic reorganization and provide real and targeted support to Haitian women active in economic and commercial sectors, to stimulate the proper functioning of the local popular market and the distribution of national income while countering poverty among financially vulnerable social groups.
-
Establish connections between the potential exclusion of qualified female labor from the formal sectors of the national economy and the financial insecurity affecting more than three-quarters of the population.
In short, the active participation of CHFESDI will enable the success of sustainable economic and social development. The needs of the population will be taken into account, and women will play their role as active individuals and stakeholders in the development process, contributing to the economic and social advancement of their country.
